Once the messages send, you start desperately trying to piece the helmet back together and wondering how in the world you’re going to explain this to Loki.

You hear Natasha make her way up the hallway, pause for a moment, then turn to leave. You wait an extra two seconds before going to retrieve the glue, lest she turn around and see you. It’s an unceremonious-looking crawl, but at least you’re out of anyone’s direct line of vision.

Back to work. Your hands are shaking a little as you attempt to glue the horn back onto the helmet before Loki finds out what you’ve done.

“What are you doing?”

Hearing Loki’s voice, you jump, accidentally dropping the just-glued helmet.

You avoid his gaze, but you have a good idea of what his expression looks like as the glue fails and the horn falls back off upon impact.

Shivers run down my back as I shuffle into the library, shaking the rain off of my body. A crack of thunder outside causes me to jump slightly and I pull my soaked jacket off, hanging it by the door on a coat rack. As I pass through the second set of doors, a couple familiar faces of volunteers and staff smile at me from their places by the shelves. I trek up the stairs to the second floor and a smile crosses my face when I see I’m the only one up here. I hum to myself quietly as I head towards the shelves, browsing titles.
